Last weekend we served 120 breakfasts and 90 dinners (and are still masked for the safety of all.)
As we said in last week’s email, Mary Stewart, our current head cook (R), is leaving for Vermont in a couple of weeks to be with a sick friend. GW Rolle (L), who has cooked the weekend meals for years, is returning after a pandemic hiatus.
As we shift from Mary to GW, we need your help.
WE NEED FOOD PREPARED OFF-SITE!!!!
One way to help is preparing food off-site and delivering it to Praise the Lord Outreach Ministries, where we serve. Any amount helps. Providing food on a regular basis, such as one or two weekends a month, is especially helpful to our planning and our budget.
Here are some ways individuals and groups can work providing food into their schedules:
- Purchase already cooked food such as roasted chickens, or buy ready-made food such as frozen lasagna and coleslaw in a bag and prepare it at home.
- Make sandwiches or to-go luncheswith a sandwich, and egg, a snack and a piece of fruit.
- Make quiche
- Prepare your special main dish or side.
- Supply oranges or hard-boiled eggs.
- Sponsor a takeout pizza night.
